I'll begin my comment by stating a basic fact: Everybody has a right to marry (anybody else.)
Much has already been said about the subject in North America and I hope and believe that alot more will be said as this cultural war will unravel itself.
The Israeli/Jewish point of the matter is that as same-sex civic-legislative barriers will eventually fall down local GLBTs will ask for their local rights as well. Indeed, Isreali legislation protecting gays is advanced and so are the attitudes among most non-religious Israelies. But the requirement to be equal in the legal sense as well as in legitimacy is bound to surface and come headstrong against the religious establishment.
