ספרתי 7,536 שגיאות כתיב. כמה יצא לך?
"I am draws the news from" 222387

I am really sorry to notice that all you are able to do is attacking my typos mistakes.

That shows clearly that some readers are not able to rise and answer the issue presented. Instead some (true small portion only) are choosing to hit the messenger instead of answering the message.

After all if you are that expert on the English language, apparently you should have no problem answering me fluently, to the point, in English or Hebrew, the choice is yours.

The question here is pretty interesting, is that a symptomatic to our Israeli culture of discussion or it should be attributed to certain, negligible portion in the Israeli society that better be ignored all in all?

This is not just a rhetoric question.

I have joined the Haayal Hakore just recently, prior to that I was one of the major contributors to the Indymedia sites. Yes, Yes, those extreme left, Anti Israel, Anti-Semites sites known very well all across the world.
During the past two years and more I have contributed about 400 full length articles and thousands of responses presenting the Israeli point of view (Center and soft Left approach) and fighting the Anti Israel approach of the readers there.
I have got thousands of counter responses some of them really hard to swallow and accept.
In all (I repeat….All) those thousand counter-responses from all across the world and for that long period of time I have never got that kind of responses I have encountered here in just a short one month. There, people hated me, Argued biterly with me but always related themselves to the issues discussed, nothing but.

Here…I am reading what I am reading and can not believe to my own eyes, readers are counting typo mistakes instead of dealing with the issues discussed.

I am Israeli but I am not sure I know you guys.

Thanks, I appreciate.

On its face you are correct, after all why I should be care about the said here. I could ignore it all in all; I could move to another site and forget about the whole thing.

Well, it is not that simple, Israel is my country and I am a part of its people.

I am what I am and at least mentally I belong to the past generations, though it sounds a bit naïve, those that do care about the people and country.
At the end of the day the few that do care are defining the face of the nation, not the others. The culture of discussion is only small part of it but actually extremely important.

A proper discussion’s culture is a positive symptom of a healthy democracy which one of its utmost important qualities is the freedom of speech and the respect for the other, though you may fiercely opposed his opinion.

Down the road if people will behave in a democratic manner our leaders will take note and follow. Each one of us if taken the small step and initiative will make the cumulative, influential change.

"the few that do care are defining the face of the nation"

Really? I don't think it's much substantiated.

Present and past is showing us that in the majority of cases small groups, usually those that do care (I am reluctant of calling them extremists because not all of them are like that) are those that taking action and usually changing the face of the history.
From the early says of Judaism, to Christianity, to the crusaders, the Emancipation days, the Bolsheviks, the Nazis and the Zionism (It is only incidentally that N&Z are coming close to each other). The few were those that were making the difference. In some cases they have created a movement of followers though.

Look around you, who is making the noises, positive, and negative (The color is in the eye of the beholder) and therefore influencing the national agenda, only relatively small groups from the Left and Right. The majority, the silent majority is as the impression implies, silent.
Sure the silent majority read newspapers, watching TV, talking and arguing about the news among them but actually only in a passive manner.

Well, actually I am not surprise. That is the way we were brought to the world, not everybody is having the internal structure to make the change and the difference and we are the reflection of the common human nature. Therefore I am not attaching a negative connotation (or positive) to the passive majority, only noting a fact.
