1. The author writes out of natural understandable frustration that most Israelies feel these days.

2. Most comments are correct to the fact that the issue is a little more complex than just setting a known tarrif for each and every event and wiping out towns. Not every event is worth a response - it shows weekness. A good example is the attitude Israel is taking with the ongoing attackes in the north in the past 10 days.

3. My personal opinion
I agree with both sides
On one hand our cusins should have an extremely clear understanding of consequences to terror attacks with victims - I am for deportation of a known number of people from where the terrorist lives / lived to either Lebanon or any other country that volunteers (I heard that Sweden offered itself)
I disagree with the author that you can simply sweep a street, streets or a small town just for the effect of it - It does not work in the world we live in today and indeed it will take few situations like that until NATO intervenes against us and our government is wanted for crimes against humanity

One thing is sure, the current situation that there is no immediate effect for a terror attack is intollerable - It is similar to educating a child. If you choose to punish a child you must follow two basic rules for it to be effective:

If you gave a warning you must honor it

The punishment must take effect
quick and be swift otherwise its effect is lost.

You may check that with any children Psychologist.
