IF there was one, yeah, I'd drop my car anyday. When I was in Berlin, nothing was more comfortable than the public transportation. Add to that the fact that ONE ticket bought you passage to ALL types of public transportation (subway, trams and buses) for a duration of time, so you can get whereever you bloody want and not have to pay for more than one ticket - and you get yourself a great system. Of course, you still need a car for extra-metropolin excavations, but how often do you do that?

So, again - if there was such a system here in Israel, you wouldn't catch me in a car (though, I should point out that cars are still rather common in Berlin anyway, so I guess there are still some advantages).
The currect situation, where prices are so high, service is so slow and erratic (a train once an hour! COME ON!) and everything is so bleeding messy an uncoordinated, simply does not allow me to leave my car at home (unless I'm going abroad. If you see an amazingly dirty Citroen AX, know it's mine - and it's been stolen! Call the cops! Now!).

Moose.
